Texpertise Network – the whole sector together
The network of Messe Frankfurt unites current topics, trends and events around the textile business and connects more than 500,000 people from all over the world.
With more than 50 international textile trade fairs in 11 countries, Messe Frankfurt is the global market leader for textile trade fairs. Texpertise covers the entire textile value chain: research, development, yarns, fabrics, apparel, fashion, contract manufacturing, home and household textiles, technical textiles, processing and cleaning technologies.
In cooperation with the United Nations Conscious Fashion and Lifestyle Network, a joint initiative of the United Nations Office for Partnerships and the Fashion Impact Fund, the Texpertise Network informs and mobilises the textile sector to implement solutions for social, economic and environmental change. Our aim is to create awareness for the Sustainable Development Goals at all our textile trade fairs worldwide – from Frankfurt, to New York, Atlanta, Shanghai and Paris.

Intertextile Apparel concludes: digital, sustainable and functional trends shine amidst boost in internationality
With strong business results and a 17% increase in international visitors from spring, the much-anticipated Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition successfully wrapped up last week. Nearly 4,000 exhibitors from 27 countries and regions welcomed 95,000 buyers from 117 countries and regions, underscoring the fair’s continued international reach. Digitalisation, sustainability and functional fashion, pillars that are currently redefining the industry, emerged as dominant themes across the fairground: whether it be biodegradable raw materials, or the first-to-market artificial intelligence system. This gave buyers a comprehensive sourcing experience, supplemented by over 40 seminars and forums and the concurrent Yarn Expo Autumn.
Econogy: realignment of sustainability activities at Messe Frankfurt’s global textile trade fairs
Messe Frankfurt’s Texpertise Network will in future realign its sustainability event formats at its more than 50 textile trade fairs around the world. The information, discussion, education and networking formats for sustainable business will then be entitled ‘Econogy’. The basis for this is the new common identity of the international textile trade fairs. With this step, Messe Frankfurt’s textile events are focusing even more strongly on sustainability as a topical issue and an increasing sales driver in the global textile industry.
Sustainable-functional products on show and on-trend at two of Intertextile Apparel’s standout zones
With each passing year, evolving trends have seen fashion consumers becoming more environmentally conscious, and increasingly demanding transparency and social responsibility in the textile supply chain. This uncompromising demand, working hand-in-hand with circular legislature, has accelerated the development of eco-friendly fabrics and resource-conscious manufacturing approaches. With sustainability a factor in their purchasing decisions, China’s large, emerging market for performance fabrics is driven by a new generation of consumers purchasing more athleisure and sportswear. Consequently, much foot traffic is expected at All About Sustainability (Hall 5.1) and Functional Lab (Hall 4.1) at the upcoming Autumn Edition of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics. With the fair set to take place from 28 – 30 August 2023 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), exhibitors at both zones will be showcasing innovative functional textiles with sustainable elements.

With the fair taking place from 28 – 30 August 2023 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), Hall 5.1’s SalonEurope, Premium Wool Zone, and Verve for Design are expected to be high-traffic zones.
