As the undisputed leader when it comes to sourcing for fabrics, components, trimmings and materials for the clothing industry, the Texworld Paris show remains an exceptional event for anyone involved in creating fashion. For European and global buyers as a whole, it constitutes a real hub for finding inspiration and for procurement. In September 2018, 87% of the 15,000 visitors to the show were in fact directly involved in purchasing decisions. On the occasion of its forty-fifth show, Texworld Paris will welcome over 1000 exhibitors, covering three halls (Halls 2, 3 and 4). A result that goes to illustrate, this year too, the interest shown by major international players in this gathering with an unwavering business orientation and where every sector is represented in one and the same venue. Texworld Paris is the predominant event at the Fairyland For Fashion, under whose banner over 1850 exhibitors are brought together from Messe Frankfurt France’s trade shows for fashion & textiles (Apparel Sourcing, Avantex, Leatherworld, Shawls&Scarves, Texworld et Texworld Denim Paris).

Ranges for sustainable sourcing on the themed itineraries
The trade fair has been showcasing ‘green’ and ethical fabrics for more than 10 years. In response to the expectations of the market, the environmentally friendly selection will be even bigger this year than in the past. This September, the Sustainable Sourcing circuit will group together an assortment of almost 80 suppliers who will be showing fabrics with GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), Organic Exchange, Bluesign, SA8000 or WRAP certifications, as part of a very comprehensive choice of ranges and materials. Special signage has been planned in order to help visitors identify the extra environmental value offered by exhibitors, depending on whether it relates to eco-friendly or bio-based materials, environmentally friendly processes or certified social standards and fair trade, or all of these advantages together (eco-friendly materials and procedures plus social standards).
Once again this year, several themed itineraries will result in a better visitor experience for prime contractors and in improved effectiveness for their searches. The “Small Quantities” circuit includes over a hundred exhibitors who offer high-quality fabrics in quantities between 50 m and 100 m. Real added value for designers who are on the lookout for smaller lines or for capsule collections. The “Artisan” circuit introduced last February will be back with even more attractions and extended by a selection of companies representing the best traditional skills to be found. Exhibitors from all over the world will demonstrate their expertise in fields as varied as embroidery or brocade and hand-woven fabrics. This season’s circuit brings together some of the top international embroiderers, such as the Indian companies Indmoda, OE Exports, Pasari Textile and Murarka as well as Mastex from Thailand.
An all-important international showcase
With exhibitors coming from 26 countries and 14 sectors, the global audience at Texworld has recognised its principal strong point. As regular fixtures, the large national pavilions can be found once more, showcasing the skills and industries of countries that are essential for international sourcing, such as Pakistan or Indonesia. Taiwan and South Korea, both of which are returning exhibitors, will be grouped in Hall 4. The Hong Kong pavilion (Hong Kong Promotion Council) is making its debut in Hall 3 in the company of twelve exhibitors, a large proportion of which are in the Knit segment.
This year the trade show will host some new exhibitors from Ethiopia, China and Canada. We also note strong attendance by Indian companies in the segment of Drapery & Tailoring, with the arrival of ASM Industrie, GBTL, Reliance and also Banswara Syntex. This dynamic segment will also welcome Orientex from Taiwan and the Fulida Group from China, which are offering very fine-quality materials. Finally, there will be participation by some excellent Indian businesses in the Woollen segment, to be found in Hall 3 with the Knit segment – always an important area – and Linen.
Cotton will be showcased by top firms who will be positioned along a wide gangway, very close to the Elite segment.
28 exhibitors selected for ELITE
Texworld Paris, endeavouring as always to simplify the itineraries for buyers and improve efficiency, has grouped in the Elite segment a selection of companies chosen by Messe Frankfurt France. They were selected for their performance in terms of quality, competitiveness, responsiveness and services aimed at the major global designer labels. This year, an assortment of 28 exhibitors from Bangladesh, India, Japan, the Lebanon, Pakistan, the Netherlands, Taiwan and Turkey, go to make up this segment, which has the capacity to provide a response for the most cutting edge and demanding markets. Seven newcomers have been registered here, something that reflects the demands of the market and the increase in the expertise of Turkish manufacturers. This country has in fact six new companies in the line-up, with Can Kumascilik (Cotton), Tekstas Tekstil (Cotton), Nara (Prints), Seçen Tekstil (Knits), Segovin Tekstil, (Silky Aspects), Tezyaparlar Tez-Pa Tekstil (Silky Aspects). The Chinese firm of Digitex (Prints) is the seventh new arrival. All these firms will be grouped in a special area, designed as a true showcase and dreamed up by the techno-designer Oliver Lapidus.
A spirit of competition, exchanges of ideas and discoveries
This year once again, Texworld Paris has outdone itself in shedding light on the major issues currently facing the industry and in providing trade visitors with insights into market changes and potential demand. The Trends Forum for Autumn/Winter 20/21 or Sustainable Forum, devoted to expectation as regards sustainable development, will offer this broader perspective that visitors have come to expect. The lectures will also provide food for thought on subjects such as environmentally responsible products and textile innovation. Lastly, several catwalk shows will allow people to discover “live” the collections shown by the exhibitors.
