Greenshowroom & Ethical Fashion Show: Funkhaus Berlin: spacious and clear presentation at the hotspot for eco fashion

29 Jun 2017

180 international labels on board, Shuttle service: buses provide transport to the Funkhaus

The Funkhaus Berlin opens its doors for the trade fair duo Greenshowroom and the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin for the first time. From 4-6 July 2017, the international top players in the eco fashion segment will present their new collections for S/S 2018 in the Shedhalle on the Funkhaus exhibition site. A total of 180 labels* will provide an inspiring range of fashion.
'The Shedhalle will be full right from the start. The participating labels paint a fantastic picture, giving us a superb overview of on-trend fashion in the new and extremely attractive location. There is also a packed programme that we have created together with our partners and which we will use to offer our visitors considerable added value', says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt.

The move to the new location means that both Greenshowroom and the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin can expand their exhibition space. 40 international pioneers in contemporary fashion present high-quality looks for next summer at Greenshowroom. The additional areas on the ground floor of the Shedhalle are occupied by the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin, which will be presenting the biggest range of fashion in its history. 140 labels present trendy street and casual wear. The platform is flanked by a Knowledge Lounge with renowned institutes and certifiers as well as a presentation area with three-day programme on the top floor of the Shedhalle.

New segmentation for a better overview
The exhibition space at the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin has been divided into clearly identified segments for the first time: Moderncasual for clear, long-lasting collections, Urbanvibe for denim and streetwear, Craft for craftsmanship interpreted in traditional and modern ways, Individual for Styles with individual class from the pioneers of eco fashion and Kids for fashionable highlights for children and teens. The trade fair thus gains considerably in structure and visitors will be better able to orient themselves.

Trends S/S 2018: understatement with minimalistic design
The style-defining trends for next summer include new products in the Craft segment based on traditional craftsmanship coupled with contemporary design

Athleisure is also becoming an important key word: sporty themes are increasingly being interpreted in a fashionable way. The focus is on a new understatement with minimalistic design that is characterised by details and high-quality materials. Colour prints and romantic all-over prints and lacing can also be seen and they dominate the collections for S/S 2018 in a rich variety of forms.

Focal topic retail
The trade fair duo has a range of attractive information-related and inspirational offers for the visitor group of retailers. The central point of focus is the retail area “JETZT!”. With it, the organiser presents a concept space that gives retailers a vision of how they can integrate sustainable fashion and lifestyle brands in their product ranges – showcased in a fashionable, experience-oriented and contemporary manner. The event highlight for retailers occurs on the third day of the trade fair at 11 a.m.: during the TW Fair Fashion Summit, industry experts discuss the issue of “How to earn money with green fashion” in a practise-based talk. The panel discussion is organised by TextilWirtschaft in cooperation with BTE Handelsverband Textil.

Fashion shows in atmospheric ambience

The fashion show programme for invited guests takes to the stage on the second day of the trade fair - also under the roof of the Shedhalle. With its vaulted ceiling, the first floor offers an atmospheric ambience. At the "Salonshow" on Wednesday 5 July at 4.30 p.m., highlights from the following labels can be seen: Biaggi Atelier, C.Pauli, Inti Ferreira, Jungle Folk, Lanius, Laurie Procès – LVMH CSR Young Talent Award, Miss Janna, Natascha von Hirschhausen x Living Blue, Somyso and Things I Miss. Then at 6.30 p.m., the catwalk show "Ethical Fashion on Stage" will show selected looks by Anukoo Fair Fashion, Anzüglich, Eco Bambou, Greenbomb, Indigo People, Less too late, Miss Green, Naturaline, Organication and Shirts for Life. Wunderwerk will also present a show special comprising its new collection.

Shuttle service to Funkhaus
For easy and simple access, Messe Frankfurt offers its own shuttle service for visitors: regular buses go to the Funkhaus from Schlesischer Tor (underground stop, corner of Skalitzer/Oppelner Straße), from Ostkreuz (overground stop, at Wasserturm) and from the Premium trade fair (shuttle stop). The trade fair duo is also included in the official shuttle service for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. It serves the Premium, Seek, Bright and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week event locations, among others.
