High technology meets the fashion industry at Avantex Paris
Avantex shows future-oriented technological solutions and innovations for the fashion and textile market, which are already available today. At the same time, it offers research and development institutes a platform where they can present their pioneering ideas and knowledge to an audience of specialists and hold discussions about them. The high-tech and innovation event was held for the sixth time at Paris le Bourget, concurrently with Texworld, the world’s leading fabric show.
Twenty exhibitors from six countries made presentations at Avantex, on twice as much exhibition space as at the previous winter edition of the fair. Avantex reflects the textile value chain in its entirety and is aimed at all textile segments. In addition to weaving operations and service providers for innovative technological processes, research institutes, start-ups and universities also made presentations to a highly interested audience of trade visitors who greatly appreciate this fusion of creative and high-tech content against the background of the consumer-market oriented Texworld.

Covering the entire textile value chain and aimed at all segments of the textile industry, Avantex is split into four main segments: ‘Avanprint’ focuses on digital-printing solutions; the ‘Materials and Components’ segment shows innovative fibres, fabrics and high-performance materials; ‘Clothing & Accessories’ puts the spotlight on the creative activities of fashion-tech entrepreneurs; and ‘Smart Retail’ presents application examples and visions for tomorrow’s trade. The event was once again flanked by side events, such as the Avantex Paris Catwalk, and a comprehensive programme of lectures at Avantex Agora. The next Avantex will be held in Paris from 17 to 20 September 2018.
