Video: Highlights of the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin and Greenshowroom

The Greenshowroom and Ethical Fashion Show Berlin have continued their success with more exhibition space, many new collections, and a large range of potential inspiration for the retail trade. “We have been able to expand the exhibition space in an entirely visible way, offering fashion buyers an inspiring environment. In this way, we have succeeded in raising significantly the time which buyers spend at the fair. We are positive in our summing-up”, says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt.

At the Greenshowroom 42 international trailblazers of contemporary fashion presented high-grade looks for next summer. With 138 labels, the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin featured the largest product portfolio of popular street and casual wear in its history. The new segmentation into five areas – Modern Casual, Urban Vibe, Craft, Individual and Kids – made it easier for visitors to seek new brands for their particular range and gave the show a new structure. One inspiration among others came from the retail section “JETZT!”, a shop-in-shop solution for the retail trade, interpreting sustainable fashion as a concept sales floor. At the Funkhaus Berlin, serving as the fair venue for the first time, once again the Greenshowroom and Ethical Fashion Show Berlin demonstrated that they are the platform for contemporary, green fashion during Berlin Fashion Week.       

The first Salon Show and Ethical Fashion on Stage, in their new location on the First Floor of the Shedhalle, also met with great enthusiasm. Fashion highlights for summer 2018 were greeted by the numerous visitors with rapturous applause; they included representatives of fashion, politics, culture and the press, not to mention VIP guests such as Sanny van Heteren, Renate Künast, Barbara Maier and Barbara Engel.

Sandra Hartmann, chief buyer at Breuninger, summed things up as follows after her visit: “We regard eco-fashion as a very serious subject. We have had a good look at many exciting labels here, made good contacts, and got some valuable ideas.”

The fair will next be held from 16 to 18 January 2018.
