With more than 370 exhibitors from 14 countries, Texworld USA and Apparel Sourcing USA started the new year with a record high. Over 4,000 visitors gained an overview of new fashion trends at the two trade fairs. In 14 product categories they were able to draw inspiration from innovative structures, material mixes and surprising colour palettes, as well as informative seminars and Textile Talks.
The topics of discussion at the seminars from the Lenzing Fibers Educational Series were global textile and sourcing, including sustainable solutions like the recycling economy system. The panels of industry experts included representatives from Sourcing Journal, Eileen Fisher, Trend Council and NSF International. And the Textile Talks, led by StartUp Fashion, Lenzing Fibers, Fashionindex, BF + DA and additional industry insiders, were once again a huge success.
Curated by the art directors from Texworld, Louis Gerin and Gregory Lamaud, the Texworld Showcase explored the latest design trends for the upcoming season. Their vision of future developments in fashion and a trend display of the latest fabrics by the exhibitors gave visitors the opportunity to have a peek at what the future holds. The new “Explore the Floor” series enabled participants to meet exhibitors and learn about different companies during guided tours of the show floor, with a focus on sustainable business models and products by experienced industry experts.
This year, the show’s art directors created a “Spotlight” trend area on the ultimate style icon: denim. The long-standing partnership between Messe Frankfurt and CCPIT-TEX made it possible for visitors to admire new innovations by textile suppliers from all over the world. And “Denim Dogs”, a fun installation of elaborate dog sculptures made of denim by artist Moon Heemin, generated a hype and lots of posts on social media.
