The trend towards customisation, when products are modified to suit an individual’s taste, has also reached the home textile sector. A Micro Factory set up at the Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles, which will run from 27to 30 August 2018 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, focuses on precisely this theme. From 3D simulation software for flexible design to innovative digital printing processes and textile cutting machines, new technologies offer innovative options for customisation. With around 1,040 businesses from 30 countries and regions, the trade show features a diverse product range and is expected to attract 40,000 visitors.
The Theme Pavilion of Intelligence, Life and Future makes its debut with international businesses, which introduce their advanced systems for Smart Home concepts. The US brand Lutron showcases energy-saving solutions for interior lighting, while the French Somfy Group specialises in automatic opening and closing mechanisms for domestic interiors. The local enterprise Jiangsu Mingcheng is an expert in sun-shading and focuses on the remote, mobile control of curtains. Information on future trends is also provided in the InterDesign Trend Area, the Andrew Martin International Interior Design Summit and the Homeoffice Crossover Exhibition 2018, in which talented designers present new styles for interiors.
