New Concept

The last Heimtextil has just drawn to a successful conclusion, and there are already some new developments: the next International Trade Fair for Home and Contract Textiles from 8 to 11 January 2019 presents a fundamental overhaul of the trade fair concept.

February 2018

Firstly: the Heimtextil will be bigger! Major construction measures on the Messe Frankfurt exhibition grounds will be completed this year, so that the Heimtextil will have a new exhibition hall at its disposal from 2019. The new Hall 12 is under construction on the west side of the exhibition grounds, and structural changes are being made to Halls 5 and 6. Secondly: the Heimtextil is creating new segments and new synergies for buyers. A new area full of inspiration and future technologies is being created, and the progressive themes of textile design, digital printing and trends will in future be grouped in one hall under the title “Textile Design”. This will create the world’s second-largest design platform of its kind. Also new will be the segment “Decorative & Furniture Fabrics”, which will show the world’s largest range of furnishing and decorative fabrics, upholstery and imitation leather on three hall levels. The trade fair areas “Wall Decoration”, “Decorative & Furniture Fabrics”, “Window & Interior Decoration”, “Beautiful Living”, “Smart Bedding”, “Be classy!”, “Bed & Bad Fashion” and “Asian Excellence and Asian Selection” will likewise feature a wealth of innovations, with a consistent focus on creating even more interesting and inspiring areas, optimising distances and exploiting customer target groups that overlap.
Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt, describes the new concept as follows: ‘From the perspective of buyers in particular, we are repositioning Heimtextil 2019 and the way we group themes and product segments to better suit target groups. In this way, synergies can be optimally exploited. In addition, the demand for stand space on the exhibitor side has grown sharply in some product segments in recent years’.
