Growth Market Gulf Region

From laundry and cleaning contractor services to the car-care business: The Middle East Cleaning Technology Week in Dubai opens its doors from 13 to 15 November 2018, presenting new innovations in textile care.

February 2018

Dubai is often called “the city of the future”. Space-age architecture, passenger drones and technological progress make up a futuristic setting in which innovation hubs proliferate. It is therefore no surprise that the Middle East is one of the world’s major growth regions. With its participation in the Middle East Cleaning Technology Week in Dubai, Messe Frankfurt further develops its position in the Middle East. The trade fair is held in cooperation with VIS Exhibition and Conferences Dubai and brings together three specialist areas dealing in modern cleaning technologies: Gulf Laundrex for the laundry and dry-cleaning sector, Clean Middle East for the cleaning-contractor segment and Gulf Carwash for the car-care business.

Wolfgang Marzin, CEO of Messe Frankfurt, states: “Our participation in the trade fair trio expands our global portfolio for textile care trade fairs. In addition to the world’s leading trade fair for the sector, Texcare International in Frankfurt, we now also organise two leading regional trade fairs for the sector, Texcare Asia in Shanghai and Gulf Laundrex. With the Texcare Forum Russia and Texcare Forum India, we also support the exchange of ideas and information in other important textile-care markets.” Almost 150 companies including international industry leaders present their products and services at the Middle East Cleaning Technology Week.

Elgar Straub, managing director of VDMA Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies also sees Messe Frankfurt’s  involvement as a plus and describes the Gulf region as “an important future market for the sector, especially in view of the consistent growth in the hotel and tourism sector”. Dr. Kayyum Ali Bohra of VIS Exhibitions Dubai views the collaboration with Messe Frankfurt, which also has a subsidiary in Dubai, as an asset for the exhibitors: “We anticipate a wealth of synergetic effects from working with Messe Frankfurt, particularly with regard to internationality and sector-specific expertise.” Messe Frankfurt and the VIS Group also cooperate in the textile care sector in India: The conference Texcare Forum India took pace for the first time in January 2018 and was held concurrently with Laundrex Mumbai.
