Political disorder, environmental problems and social scandals: how can fashion have an influence in ever-changing, turbulent times? For the spring edition of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, China’s international trade fair for clothing fabrics and accessories, trend experts from Tokyo, New York, Milan and Paris embarked on a search to find answers to this question. The results will be presented at the Intertextile Directions Spring/Summer 2019 Trend Forum during the upcoming tradeshow from 14 until 16 March 2018: awaiting the visitors under the title “Dialogue” are the three future trends “@ sense”, “# couture” and “e. native”.
And it’s all in the name: the turbulent global political situation is giving a new urgency to the need for genuine dialogue. Personal interaction and a return to nature are gaining in significance and being reflected in the colours, fabrics and prints by the exhibitors. The “@ sense” trend is synonymous with this sensual self-awareness and a dignified strength that doesn’t regard sensitivity as a contradiction; „# couture” describes the revival of elegance – chic and sporty, playful and energetic. And “e. native” is celebrating global connectivity and endless inspiration. As well as this, three trend forums and a “Fashion Focus” area will be shifting the focus on domestic Chinese trends for ladies’ and menswear. And a series of seminars will be offering additional insights into the trends for spring and summer 2019.
Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics is taking place together with Yarn Expo, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles, the clothing fair Chic and the knitwear fair PH Value from 14 until 16 March 2018 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
