Textile production in India

Texprocess successfully launched in India

January 2018

It all begins with a fibre. To turn this fibre into ready-to-use textiles and products as quickly and efficiently as possible, the latest machines and technologies are required. As the leading international trade fair for processing textile and flexible materials, the Texprocess trade fair brand offers an ideal platform to the manufacturers of these machines and processes, as well as the service providers accompanying the process – and in 2017, for the first time also in India.

Considering that Asia is the most important clothing supplier of the European Union – in 2006 a massive 77 percent of the garments distributed there came from Asian countries – it soon becomes clear that Asia is a highly significant market for the machine manufacturers and service providers producing textile, flexible materials. India comes fourth in the international ranking, which makes it one of the world’s highest-volume production centres. The ideal platform for the textile-processing market was offered by the Texprocess Pavilion, launched for the first time at Techtextil India from 13-15 September 2017. From product development down to finishing, international exhibitors showcased their machines and products for the various process steps of textile processing. The premiere of the Texprocess Pavilion resulted in valuable synergies and is laying the foundations for the announced expansion of Texprocess India into an independent trade fair platform and planned partner event to Techtextil India.

In September 2017, Techtextil India attracted 175 exhibitors from 11 countries, who showcased their new products to 5,436 professional visitors from 38 countries.
