The word “textile” no longer automatically conjures up thoughts of fashion. Textile products, especially so-called performance and smart textiles, have a very wide variety of applications and shape our daily lives in many ways. 66 German companies and manufacturers of high-performance textiles and fibres will represent the complete spectrum of textile applications – from the automotive industry and architecture to protective apparel – within the framework of the Techtextil North America and Texprocess America trade fairs in Atlanta from 22 to 24 May 2018. The concurrently launched leading industry trade show ‘High-Tex from Germany’, hosted by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and energy (BMWi) and the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA), will present not only technical textiles, but also the machines used to produce and process them.
“The USA is one of the most important export markets for the textile industry in Germany. For us as representatives of the German textile sector, the joint presentation within the framework of High-Tex from Germany is a great opportunity to cultivate existing contacts in the USA, and to make new ones. With this exhibition, we are bringing our technologies to our customers in the USA”, says Marc Lorch, Member of the Board of Zwissler Holding and Exhibitor President of the participating companies. The elaborately designed exhibition area covers more than 1,300 square metres, and presents the latest textile innovations “Made in Germany” to industry professionals. In addition, the exhibitors will introduce their visionary ideas in lectures, special exhibits and multimedia presentations at the Plaza.
With an intelligent combination of international know-how the global Zwisstex Group offers services for the manufacture of innovative textiles from a single source. Gertex and Zoeppritex, companies belonging to the group, will present state-of-the-art surface textiles from automotive applications, especially textile finishes and lamination– a core competence of both companies. No less exciting is the latest product generation of extremely flame-resistant textiles by Pyrotex, which are used in functional wear, the automotive and aviation industries, architecture and building as well as contract textiles.
Additionally, ‘High-Tex from Germany’ introduces an extensive range of the latest machines and equipment for the entire textile manufacturing and processing chain. Virtually all fields of textile production are covered, from CAD/CAM technologies and new web technologies to the processing of nonwovens. Visitors can also expect embroidery machines as well as textile finishing and laminating machine technology. Visitors who are left wanting more of this taste of the future can delve further into “High-Tex from Germany” by exploring the current status of innovative research projects at the stands of the German Institutes of Textile and Fiber Research (DITF), the Industrieverband Veredlung, Garne, Gewebe und Technische Textilien (IVGT), the location agency Tübingen-Reutlingen-Zollernalb and the German-American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern United States (GACC South).
