From 10 – 13 April 2018, the Emitex, Simatex and Confemaq trade fair trio once again brought together the textile and clothing industry at the Costa Salguero Center in Buenos Aires. 212 companies and 10,157 professional visitors were in attendance to find out about the sector’s huge potential and future trends. The three Argentine trade fairs each have different focuses, yet all perfectly complement one another. While Emitex is regarded as a port of call for suppliers of the clothing industry, the focus of Simatex is on textile machinery. And Confemaq offers a platform to manufacturers of clothing machinery. Organised by Messe Frankfurt and Mundo Textil Magazine, 212 companies from 11 countries presented their products to more than 10,157 visitors on an area of 12,000 m².
Prior to the opening ceremony, Olaf Schmidt, Vice President of Textiles & Textiles Technologies at Messe Frankfurt, presented the Texpertise Network, which includes more than 50 events and is creating global structures for new business relations. In times of globalisation, this is opening up new sales channels and markets for companies. Schmidt also announced that in the future Simatex and Confemaq would be integrated into the Texprocess brand and financially supported by the VDMA Association for Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies: “These three shows play an important role within our textile portfolio serving the South American and especially the Argentinian market. Due to the growing demand and investments in textile technology we will strengthen the two related shows Simatex and Confemaq by integrating both into our Texprocess brand,” said Olaf Schmidt. He added: “We are very pleased that the German ‘VDMA Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies’ association, our partner of the Texprocess show in Frankfurt, has confirmed its support.”
One of the most visited spaces at the event was the exhibition on technologies for digital printing and sublimation, which grew by 50% compared to the previous editions. In addition to the latest machinery and services, workshops and panels provided new input. Insights into the creativity of the national design scene could be found in the Design Point space where South American textile designers exhibited their designs and the tools they use during the creation process.
