From sustainability and filtration to smart textiles, textiles in urban spaces, digital transformation and textiles for medical applications: the upcoming edition of Techtextil, the leading international trade show for technical textiles and nonwovens, offers comprehensive insights into the latest innovations in the industry. Dr. Reinhard Forstner of TWD Fibres GmbH opened the Techtextil Forum on 14 May 2019 with the question “Recycling textiles – easier said than done. Why? What is fact, and what is fiction?” On all four days, the Forum provides a framework for dialogue between exhibitors and trade visitors as well as researchers, developers and users, and opens up a space for visionary input and interactive exchange. In addition to numerous talks by experts from a range of application areas, the Forum programme also features various discussion formats. The talks will take place in Hall 4.1, which is accessible free of charge to all trade show visitors. This gives both exhibitors and trade visitors the opportunity to attend talks of their choice or to spontaneously contribute to discussions.
The Techtextil Forum begins on Tuesday, 14 May with a focus on sustainability and new filtration materials. On day two the focus shifts to textiles in urban spaces, fitting in well with the Techtextil and Texprocess special event “Urban Living – City of the Future”. The Wednesday afternoon is dedicated to the subject of smart textiles and offers visitors insights into areas such as textiles in conjunction with the Internet of things. Digitisation is also the watchword for the afternoon of 16 May, with additional panels on Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence and technical textiles in medicine. The full programme is available on the Techtextil website.
