January 2021
How will the pandemic evolve? Will trade show visitors be able to travel to the events? What would customer contact look like? There is too much uncertainty. "The Coronavirus pandemic is extremely present at moment and is affecting our planning. Due to current conditions, we will not be able to meet the expectations of our customers regarding internationally staged trade shows in April and May," says Detlef Braun, general manager of Messe Frankfurt. It is now certain that international home and contract textiles trade show Heimtextil and trade show duo Techtextil and Texprocess will not take place in 2021. The decision, made in consultation with customers, was a difficult one, the organisers say, but inevitable in light of the recent tightening of regulations and travel restrictions.
Recent developments also affect other of Messe Frankfurts trade show formats as well as other organisers worldwide. Digital offers are in the pipeline to allow companies and customers to stay in contact to satisfy the textile industry's trend-oriented ordering cycles. Nextrade, for instance, the first ordering and data management platform for the home and living industry, offers the possibility to present products and discuss with retailers. Further digital information and content projects are in the works to bridge the time until the next trade show editions. Heimtextil will run from 11th to 14th January 2022, followed by Techtextil and Texprocess in the second quarter of the year.
