Change at the helm of Messe Frankfurt France

Michael Scherpe is leaving Messe Frankfurt after 40 years. In the year of his 70th birthday he will hand over the management of Messe Frankfurt’s French subsidiary to Frenchman Frédéric Bougeard.

Michael Scherpe has been at the helm of Messe Frankfurt France since it’s foundation in 2002 and has established the company with today 25 employees and a turnover of € 28 million. “We are happy that he will continue to lead Messe Frankfurt’s independent commercial agency in France, which he took over in 1981“, says Messe Frankfurt managing director Detlef Braun.

Frédéric Bougeard will succeed Scherpe as president on 1st April 2020. On 20th January, he will join Paris-based Messe Frankfurt S.A.S. with its textile trade shows Texworld Paris, Apparel Sourcing Paris and JET Expo as managing director. The management specialist joins Messe Frankfurt from interior design trade show Maison & Objet, where he has been of charge of business since 2001. Previously, he was international sales manager at British Reed Exhibitions. Before Reed Exhibitions Bougeard worked for trade show organiser Blenheim in Düsseldorf.

Messe Frankfurt’s portfolio includes textile trade shows Texworld Paris, Apparel Sourcing Paris and JET Expo.
