High-Tex from Germany

Intelligent textiles from Germany at the Techtextil North America and Texprocess America

They are found in cars, airplanes, bridges and road building. Without them hospital operations, the sterile treatment of wounds, would be impossible. Technical textiles shape our contemporary world and provide solutions in the worlds of digitalisation, e-mobility and energy efficiency. Germany is a global market leader for textiles made from high-tech materials. The annual turnover of German manufacturers has been growing steadily year-on-year and currently stands at ca. 13 billion euros. This equals more than half of the annual turnover of Germany’s textile industry, and is set to increase in future.

The largest target market outside Europe for German textile and clothing exports is the USA. Accordingly, under the title “High-Tex from Germany”, businesses from the German textile industry and manufacturers of German textile machines, clothing technology and machines for the processing of technical textiles will once again be represented at the trade fairs Techtextil North America and Texprocess America, taking place from 22 to 24 May 2018 in Atlanta. The initiators of the industry-leading show are the Confederation of the German Textile and Fashion Industry, the VDMA Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies and the VDMA Textile Machinery. The area showcasing the innovative power of the German textile industry is organised by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) in collaboration with the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA) and realised by the Messe Frankfurt.

Further information about the industry-leading show “High-Tex from Germany” will be presented at a press briefing during the trade fair Heimtextil Frankfurt on Thursday, 11 January 2018 at 2 pm. Representatives of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the Confederation of the German Textile and Fashion Industry, the VDMA and the AUMA will provide a status update and an overview of the next steps.
