Technical textile innovations from Europe are driving the Chinese market – and will also be showcased at the Cinte Techtextil China taking plaMay 2018
Which are the most innovative countries worldwide? With Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Denmark, Finland, Germany and Ireland among the top 10, Europe leads the way. To reach this conclusion, the Global Innovation Index 2017, a current survey by the market research agency Statista, examined the innovative power of 127 economies worldwide.
For Chinese buyers too, European companies are showing the way forward with new technologies and innovations. This was reflected at the last edition of Cinte Techtextil China, Asia‘s leading trade fair for textiles and nonwovens. Ping Chen, General Manager of IBENA Shanghai Technical Textiles, states, “In the Chinese market, buyers want good quality products, so overseas companies, and products with recognised quality certifications, have a lot of potential”, Roger Zhang, Sales Manager of the German company J.H. Ziegler Nonwovens and New Materials, agrees: “There’s a definite shift to more high-quality machinery in China that isn’t affected by what’s happening in the overall economy. Moreover, there are opportunities for overseas suppliers as there is still a gap between us and what Chinese companies produce.”
The Chinese demand for European innovations means that more leading overseas companies will participate in the next Cinte Techtextil China from 4 to 6 September 2018. Thirty exhibitors from eight countries – including Arkema and Protechnic from France, Dakota Coating from Belgium, Lenzing Plastics from Austria and Trelleborg Coated Systems from Italy – will showcase their products in the European Zone launched by the fair at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. They will be among the more than 500 international exhibitors present.
