China remains the world’s largest manufacturer, exporter and consumer of nonwovens. The Asian market share of the global nonwovens market is expected to grow to more than 47 per cent by 2020. For this reason, the Middle Kingdom has also become a focus of attention for overseas producers and enterprises. In 2017 China imported machinery for the production and processing of nonwovens worth US Dollar 125.78 million, a 79 per cent increase on the previous year. The top five exporters are Germany, France, Italy, Taiwan and Japan. It is therefore no surprise that many international businesses have announced plans to attend the third edition of the show China International Nonwovens Expo & Forum (CiNE), which will take place in Shanghai from 3 to 5 June 2019. The 100 exhibitors will for the first time include specialists in the field such as Germany’s Reifenhäuser Reicofil and Vogelsang and Italy’s Sicam. Many nonwoven producers in China favour the expertise of European manufacturers of machinery, plants and components and the quality and sustainability they promise.
The trade show and the three-day forum provide an ideal platform for discussions and for presentations of the latest products, technologies, raw materials, chemicals, machinery and components for the nonwovens industry. In future, the industry plans to focus on the development of innovative technologies, multinational strategies and intelligent, environmentally friendly production potentials. According to CNITA, single-use nonwovens for the healthcare and elderly care sector are currently among the top growth sectors in China. As such, the leading suppliers at the trade show will include CHT Germany and Xingtai Non-Woven Products.
This year the trade show will take place in the Shanghai Convention & Exhibition Center of International Sourcing for the first time. CiNE is supported by the trade show Techtextil and is organised by the Sub-Council of Textile Industry (CCPIT), the China Nonwovens & Industrial Textiles Association (CNITA), the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry (INDA) and Messe Frankfurt (HK).
