Minimalism, natural elements, light. These are fundamental principles in Japanese interior design. Next year, from 3rd to 5th June, Interior Lifestyle Tokyo will present interior products like furniture and decorative items as well as food, clothing and jewellery to an international crowd. Netflix series “Tidying up with Marie Kondo” started a global hype about the Japanese love for tidiness and Asian design. An inner balance demands a quiet home – that is the belief behind a clean design language and reduced aesthetics.
Interior Lifestyle Tokyo also has a clear concept. Product categories like “Home”, “Foodist” and “Kitchen Life” offer visitors easy orientation. In the “Japan Style” area, Japanese artisanal artists will show their modern designs. Particularly innovative, forward-thinking products will be on display in the “Movement” area. The works of aspiring young designers can be seen in the areas “Talents” and “Next”. Interior Lifestyle Tokyo 2020 was able to bring on board renowned new creative directors Makoto Tanijiri and Ai Yoshida, the duo known as “Suppose Design Office”, who will add a fresh lick of paint to the trade show.
Some 770 exhibitors from 26 countries and regions showed at the last edition of Interior Lifestyle Tokyo, which attracted 21,000 visitors from all over the world. Due to the Olympic Games, the trade show will next year take place in the Aomi Exhibition Halls of Tokyo Big Sight.
