Will classic trade show concepts still be viable after the corona crisis? Could the currently much discussed and continuing digitalisation mean lead to trade show participants doing business only online in the future? Messe Frankfurt is convinced that the trade show will take place successfully in its usual form from 12th to 15th January 2021. And, current registrations prove the organiser right: more than 95 per cent of exhibition space has been booked. "As far as the pandemic is concerned, we are convinced that people will still want to meet in person to exchange their products – and perhaps more so than ever after this crisis year – and that personal contacts are the best prerequisite for good, long-term business. Virtual offers can of course complement global communication. But personal meetings and the experience of touch, especially in the field of textiles, will remain essential," says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt.
Heimtextil will not only take place, it has also restructured its trade programme. In order to make orientation easier, the numerous events informing and inspiring specific target groups will be divided over the three segments „Show“, „Trend“ and „Conference". "Show“ focuses on the stands of international exhibitors in halls 3 to 12, where famous interior designs experts will lead visitors directly to innovative exhibitors of interest. „Trend“ with the established „Trend Space“ in hall 3 will be trend barometer und first port of call for design, trend and market forecasts. And „Conference“ will pool lectures, panel discussions and workshops in the five areas of Heimtextil, which target specific visitor groups.
At the 50th edition of Heimtextil from 7th to 10th January 2020, around 63.000 visitors got information from 2,952 exhibitors at the world's leading trade show for home, healthcare and hospitality textiles about what was going on in the international industry.
