So far, 2020 has been a quiet year for the trade show business, but anticipation is growing for the coming year. From 12th to 15th January 2021, Messe Frankfurt will open its doors to visitors to Heimtextil again. More than 900 exhibitors from 49 countries have already booked stands at the trade show. To safeguard a carefree participation for all parties at Heimtextil, appropriate protection and hygiene measures have been taken. Three square metres have been planned per person to assure that the required security distance is kept. Messe Frankfurt has come up with something special to support companies in these difficult times – exhibitors can hand out free ticket codes to their customers. “We want to show solidarity with our customers and create an additional incentive for German and international buyers to join the trade show in Frankfurt as usual at the beginning of the year, where they can meet well-known as well as new business partners,” says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt.
For the industry, Heimtexil is a silver lining. “As the biggest and most important leading trade fair for home and household textiles, Heimtextil is a fixed and important component in the textile calendar for all members of the industry,“ says Ottmar Ihling, representative for DecoTeam Germany. “Business deals and personal meetings with our customers, communication on all levels, the presentation of new products, creative input – all this now has increased relevance and is of greater importance, especially in these unusual times. We are therefore particularly looking forward to this Heimtextil and are positive that everyone else feels the same,“ Mr Ihling continued. German exhibitors as well as exhibitors from abroad consider the trade show in January to be a new beginning after the crisis and believe the event offers the possibility to pick up networking again after a long break.
