An infinite variety of fibre and yarn innovations: Yarn Expo Spring will take place from 11–13 March, 2020 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai, occupying an exhibition area of 26,000 m² in hall 8.2. Over the three days of the show, China’s biggest city will become an industry hotspot, not least thanks to the considerable international attention which the four concurrent trade shows attract, among them the Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics. Many businesses will be putting their sustainability activities centre stage during their trade show appearance. After all, the demand for sustainability among buyers is becoming increasingly tangible. Sebastián Jaramilo of Alltex from Colombia says: “I am especially looking for eco-friendly products. I’m happy to see many companies here committed to environmentally-friendly policies. The quality of suppliers here is good and has everything I need in one place. I can meet new connections here, and also place onsite orders with my existing suppliers.”
According to the World Trade Organization, last year the global textile trade reached a new record high since 2012. For many companies, China is an important step on their way to the global market because it is among the top three exporting and importing countries. At this years Yarn Expo Spring, 468 exhibitors from 12 countries showcased their fibres and yarns to Chinese and international buyers. The show also attracted 28,302 trade visitors from 87 countries and regions, indicating a 9% increase compared to 2018.
