This trade show is a lot more than a sourcing channel – it’s more like a stage for high-quality products and innovative concepts”, says Rajiv Srivastava, manager at US textile company Neman Brothers & Associates. At the spring edition of Yarn Expo, which will run from 11th to 13th March 2020, functional yarn suppliers will present their newest products. Tung Ho Textiles has demonstrated how unusual the materials used can be, by presenting a fibre made of fish scales at the autumn edition of Yarn Expo in 2019.
From Adidas to Nike and Patagonia. Many sports and outdoor brands are using the yarns of Taiwanese textile producer Everest Textile. Unique yarn processing technology creates stretch fibres, which absorb moisture and dry quickly. ”Today, people are more interested in sports products and elastic fabrics. These will continue to have big potential in the future”, said Steven Shen, Textured Yarn Department Director at Everest Textile. Functional yarns have another advantage: specialist functions are incorporated directly into the yarns, making them more durable and thus more sustainable. Apart from specific fibre properties, international buyers especially are also interested in certification.
