Digital, hybrid, online - terms like these shaped the past year. Many areas of life moved to the virtual world. Trade shows were also increasingly staged online or had a phygital form, meaning a mix between physical and digital formats. The trend continues in 2021. From 10th to 12th March 2021, the industry will meet at Yarn Expo, on-site in Shanghai as well as on an online platform including additional offers. Visitors can exchange information about innovative yarns and fibres at the National Exhibition and Convention Center. At the same time, participants, who are unable to travel to Shanghai, will have access to the traded show's match-making tools, online exhibitions and instant messaging programmes.
“Participants have long recognised the show as a place to discover and stay afresh with the industry, with exhibitors and visitors appreciating more than ever the chance to learn about the latest market news,” says Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. One of the key issues at the spring edition of Yarn Expo will be antibacterial materials. “The Autumn Edition showed a substantial increase in demand for antibacterial yarns and fibres, an already emerging trend that has been significantly boosted by the global pandemic,” Wen continued.
Yarn Expo runs alongside the spring edition of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, one of the biggest trade shows for clothing fabrics worldwide. Contributing to a big offer, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles, CHIC and PH Value will also offer insights into the world of home textiles at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center during the same days.
