The coronavirus outbreak has led to severe economic damage and is confronting the textile industry with challenges it has never had to face before. A complete recovery will take time – companies around the world know that. At the same time, the industry is already looking for ways to get back on its feet. Yarn Expo in Shanghai has been a point of access to the promising Chinese and Asian markets for many years. For this reason, this year’s autumn edition, which will take place from 23rd to 25th September 2020, is of particular relevance to industry players. “The fair offers a platform to help companies reconnect whilst supplying access to the rebounding market”, said Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager at Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. “With its extensive experience and understanding of the industry, Yarn Expo is in a strong position to support the overall recovery of the yarn and fibre sector”, Ms Wen continued.
Yarn Expo, however, is not only a magnet for the Chinese and Asian markets, which are becoming increasingly important. In view of the more than 19,000 visitors from 93 countries and regions who attended Yarn Expo in 2019, the trade show also helps exhibitors expand their market reach internationally. Visitors to Yarn Expo will also get an overview over forward-looking market issues. This year, for instance, environmentally friendly and innovative products will be part of the varied offer of high-quality yarns and fibres at the trade show. Yarn Expo’s trade show programme will include various forums on current trends. There will also be dedicated exhibition areas for specific product groups.
Yarn Expo will run alongside the autumn edition of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, PH Value and CHIC. Visitors to the events will benefit from a concentrated overview over the latest developments in all parts of the industry. The spring edition of Yarn Expo had to be postponed due to the corona virus and will now take place in Shenzhen from 15th to 15th July 2020.
