Some 2,600 exhibitors, 80,533 buyers, 17 countries and regions and 160,000 square metres of exhibition space - these are the figures Intertextile Apparel Fabrics is presenting for its past edition, which brought together the international textile industry at National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai from 17th to 19th March 2021. The trade show was offering online and hybrid solutions to meet the needs of all visitors and ensure they had the best possible trade show experience despite difficult conditions. Thanks to an app and the Connect Plus platform, interested parties not able to attend the event in person could participate in business transactions, receive information about developments and innovations in the industry and discover new products in live streams or video chats. Sustainability and innovation played important roles, at the "Future Materials Summit" there were discussions about the sustainable materials of the future and circular production possibilities within the textile industry. Other event highlights included the "Fabric to Fashion Buyer Forum" and the "German Chinese Innovators Space".
Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles also took place from 17th to 19th March 2021, at the same location. Whether it is bed linen, towels, carpets, tablecloths or home textile technologies, the trade show catered for the industry's needs and presented everything that is new in four different product areas. Exhibitors included internationally renowned companies like Lenzing, Cotton Council International, Yantai Zhonglian, Zhangjiagang Coolist Life Technology and Wujiang City Yunjie Textiles. This spring's edition of Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles had various innovations to offer that are tailored to the needs of the industry. There was a product area for feathers and down and, for the first time, home textiles were presented for campus and school.
As usual, Yarn Expo Spring took place alongside the two Intertextile trade shows to give insight into the latest yarn and fabric trends. In trend forums and events, national and international exhibitors presented natural fibres such as linen, cotton, hemp and wool as well as special functional fabrics.
Together the trade show trio form one of the most important international sourcing platforms for the textile industry. The autumn edition of the "three-in-one" trade show is scheduled to run at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai from 25th to 28th August 2021.
