The biggest sourcing event for textiles on the North American market is taking place this coming week from 22-24 July 2019 at the Javits Convention Center in New York. With a variety of insightful seminars and talks, tradeshow duo Texworld USA and Apparel Sourcing USA will be providing answers to the industry’s questions.
From circular supply chains down to the traceability of textile products – the topic of sustainability poses a challenge for many textile companies: “Originally a buzzword in the industry, the trendy topic of sustainability started popping up a couple of years ago, and now, more and more global companies are catching on. [...] Companies know sustainability practices are not just an option, but a requirement in the future, but some are confused about how to achieve this. Our educational platform aims to address this matter,” says Jennifer Bacon, Show Director of Texworld USA and Apparel Sourcing USA.
The series of Lenzing Innovation seminars gives attendees the opportunity to find out more about fair and environmentally conscious production options. Experts will be discussing Africa as a sourcing location, trend agency Mint Moda will provide fashion forecasts for the coming season and the Sourcing Journal will reflect on sustainability from the fibre to the final material. And the interactive Textile Talks sessions will cover future-relevant topics such as upcycling. The US trade policy will also be playing a key role. “Explore the Floor” sessions, guided tours of the show, will complement the line-up of informative talks.
