Trade Show: Texworld New York City, Apparel Sourcing New York City

New concept in New York

The organiser of Texworld USA and Apparel Sourcing USA has announced dates for the winter events. From 12th to 14th January 2021, the industry will get together at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. Apart from the on-site event there will be a pop-up sourcing showcase and a digital platform allowing suppliers and interested parties to exchange information.

September 2020

New year, new look. The organiser of Texworld USA and Apparel Sourcing USA has used the trade show business break caused by Corona to reorganise the events with a new concept and a new name. Now called Texworld New York City and Apparel Sourcing New York City, the trade shows will welcome the industry at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center from 12th to 14th January 2021 to exchange information about trends and innovations. But not only the name is new. A pop-up sourcing showcase will be added to the traditional on-site event. The area allows visitors to get into virtual contact with exhibitors, who cannot attend the trade show in person. They can present their fabrics and textiles to buyers on screens, exchange ideas and offers and close business deals. This way, Messe Frankfurt North America combines traditional trade shows with digital events. “We are eager to introduce the Pop-up Sourcing Showcase to the textile community. The show has evolved tremendously since its inception. From the quality of the suppliers to the educational offerings, Texworld and Apparel Sourcing have become a staple in the market,” says Jennifer Bacon, Show Director.

On site and online. Due to the Corona pandemic, the two shows were staged on a digital platform only this year – and met with great success. The online platforms of Texworld and Apparel Sourcing were so successful that the organiser has now decided to integrate the digital offer into the trade shows’ concept permanently. At their winter editions next January, all interested parties unable to attend the physical events can to get into contact with exhibitors. Matchmaking tools will help online visitors to network quickly and easily with relevant suppliers in a digital way. The programme uses artificial intelligence to find the suppliers visitors are looking for. They can then be directly contacted by suppliers through video calls and the likes. “Messe Frankfurt has a long tradition in being open to innovation and agile during challenging times and it is in this same spirit that we are excited to present a multitude of opportunities for our New York events to continue serving the textile sourcing community,” says Konstantin von Vieregge, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt North America.
