The new Eco Textile Labelling Guide is here
The Eco Textile Labelling Guide is a standard work when it comes to labels for responsible sourcing and more sustainable production of textiles. Easy to consult and to comprehend, the seventh edition of the booklet in A5 format gives an overview of the latest developments in the 70 most important textile standards and labels. The certificates are divided into five groups along the textile value-added chain. Labels such as Bluesign, GOTS, Step by Oeko-Tex and Cradle to Cradle, for example, come under the heading of Textile Processing. Cotton made in Africa, the Recycled Claim Standard and the Better Cotton Initiative are brought together in the “Raw Materials” group. Further headings are Standards and Tools, Compliance and Legislation.

The English-language guide is meant for producers, purchasers and retailers who want information about existing environmental and social standards, and for those who are already familiar with these subjects and know that that they can find all the latest developments at a glance – and more than once a year, for all updates can be viewed online at www.textilstandards.com.

The first label guide appeared as early as 2009. Since then the work has been published every 18 months by MCL News & Media in partnership with Messe Frankfurt.
