From fabrics made of natural fibres to functional textiles and yarns: 4,000 exhibitors from 33 countries and regions will be presenting a wide range of sourcing options at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics from 27-29 September 2018. Product groups and special zones aim to improve orientation at the event.
The “Premium Wool Zone” will cater to the rapidly growing demand from the Chinese and global markets for fashionable wool and luxury worsted wool. International companies from France, Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, Peru and the UK will be presenting a varied offer: a merino wool by British company Holland & Sherry, for example, combines sustainable natural fibres with a nano-silver finish that has anti-bacterial and anti-static properties. And Chinese exhibitor Scabal is showcasing a wool that has gemstones and metals woven into it.
Over 130 denim producers and designers will be presenting their cutting-edge technologies and the trends for the coming season in the “Beyond Denim Zone”. The three key themes “Eco-Revolution”, “Vintage Edition” and “New World” will invite visitors to join the conversation of sustainability and put the spotlight on pieces that combine innovative technologies with retro aesthetics. For example, one of the exhibitors, Soorty, Pakistan’s biggest denim producer, recently collaborated with fibre manufacturer Lenzing and fashion chain Only, a brand of the Bestseller Group. The yarns from the “Forever Black” line are EU Ecolabel-certified and enable energy and water savings of up to 50%, as well as a carbon footprint reduction of 60%.
