Trade show: Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles

A technical edge

Interior textiles are more sought after than ever before in China. During the springtime edition of Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles from 14-16 March, the world’s leading home textile suppliers will be coming together to present their wide variety of home and lifestyle products to an audience of international professionals.

February 2018

The Chinese market for home and contract textiles is developing strongly and therefore offering plenty of opportunities for companies to extend their product palettes and tap into new fields. From 2011 to 2016, the turnover generated by bedding in China significantly increased, reaching 18.3 billion USD in 2016. This is equivalent to a plus of 52.5%. This was announced by the international market research institute Euromonitor. And the outlook is also looking promising for the coming years: for 2017 to 2021, an annual growth of 5.9% and a turnover of 24.3 billion USD are expected. Over 200 exhibitors will be presenting their wide product ranges at the Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles trade fair – from bed linen and terry towelling products, to rugs and home interior accessories. Seven Chinese pavilions will be showcasing unique regional products, while the presence of a number of foreign suppliers will further boost the fair’s diversity.

Due to the strong competition on the textile market, it is particularly important for companies to stand out by using state-of-the-art machinery and technologies. In the “Machinery Equipment Zone”, leading industry suppliers will be showcasing a whole host of innovative solutions for the textile industry. The Richpeace Group from Hong Kong, for example, has specialised in sewing and cutting machines and will be presenting its quilting production system: by linking different machines, the company has succeeded in creating a fully-automated product line. Another textile machine manufacturer that has made a name for itself in the field of new technologies and digitalisation is Eton Systems. Its flexible material handling system, Eton Systems 5000, is helping companies around the world to increase their efficiency, save space and improve the management of their entire production process.

The spring event of the Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles is taking place together with Yarn Expo, Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, the clothing fair Chic and the knitwear fair PH Value from 14-16 March 2018 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
