Fabrics, colours, sustainability – The series of seminars and textile talks at Texworld USA and Apparel Sourcing USA will be bringing together top industry leaders at the Javits Convention Center in New York from 23-25 July 2018. At the focus: sustainable visions for the future and the trends for the autumn/winter 2019/2020 season. And visitors can also gain an overview of upcoming trends at the Texworld Showcase curated by art directors Louis Gerin and Gregory Lamaud. In addition to this, colour boards will be presented in the Spotlight area of Apparel Sourcing USA under the title “The Art of Customization – Findings, Trims and Accessories”.
As attractive as the world of fabrics and colours may be, the sourcing fairs will also be putting the spotlight on the detrimental effects of fashion on the environment and humanity. For example, the documentary films shown during the different seminars will be drawing attention to the microplastics problem and the pollution of the world’s oceans. And the expanded “Explore the Floor” series will also offer professional visitors the opportunity to explore the fairs accompanied by industry experts – with guided tours on the topics of the latest fashion trends or sustainable production. Answers to legal questions about brand protection for textile and fashion companies will be provided during the Textile Talks series “Fashion Law”.
At Home Textiles Sourcing Expo, which is taking place at the same time, international exhibitors will be showing their varied collections of home textiles. Accompanying seminars will shed light on topics including domestic production options, the changes to the international trade policy and their impact on the home textile industry.
