“It’s time clothing manufacturing and the supply chain go digital”. N.A.bld is a production management software that helps brands to launch their products and speed up production in a sustainable way. At Avantex Paris, the software’s co-founder and COO Gemma Sole and other experts discussed the chances and changes in the fashion industry in the “Innovating in fashion for a positive social impact” panel. The six trade shows Apparel Sourcing Paris, Avantex Paris, Leatherworld Paris, Shawls & Scarves Paris, Texworld Paris and Texworld Denim Paris inspired visitors from 16th to 19th September with a large variety of products, fashion shows and lectures. “Our goal is to be the pioneer in design and production, implementation and retail. Public expectations are very clear: the spotlight is on sustainable development, responsible consumption and their respective measures – these expectations became evident also in the aisles of the trade shows, at the discussions and lectures and determine what drives the markets”, says Michael Scherpe, president of Messe Frankfurt France.
With more than 1,000 exhibitors from 25 countries, Texworld Paris and Texworld Denim Paris once again proved to be one of the leading trade shows for sourcing. Whether it was sustainable or organic-based materials, eco-friendly processes or certified social standards, specially designed signage guided visitors to exhibitors offering environmentally friendly products. Once again, the art directors of Texworld presented next season’s styles in two trend areas – one of which was dedicated entirely to sustainable trends.
Dévan Swanepoel, the founder of South African brand WEEF, called Leatherworld Paris “an event, where the future of fashion meets industry”. WEEF showcased hand-made leather ties and pineapple imitation leather. Another new product causing a stir was fake fur made from cornstalks by Chinese company Ecopel.
Industry and research came together at Avantex Paris. The fourth Avantex Fashion Pitch Award went to French start-up Smart Pixels. The company’s augmented reality technology makes it possible to visualise the final product by projecting individual choices like colour and material directly onto the product.
Almost 15,000 visitors attended the six trade shows that for this edition took place as “The Fairyland for Fashion”. In the upcoming spring season, the fashion world will get together to celebrate itself once again in Paris from 10th to 13th February 2020.
