Trade Show: Yarn Expo Autumn

New date, new synergies

The growth of the Chinese textile and clothing market has been continuing unabated for years, something which textile trade fairs like Yarn Expo are also profiting from. Its upcoming edition is taking place on a new date (27-29 September 2018) and therefore using the synergies of another three textile and fashion fairs in Shanghai.

UPDATE, 28 June 2018: The Yarn Expo Autumn is taking place on a new date 15 - 17 October 2018.

May 2018

Yarn Expo Autumn has brought its date forward and will now be taking place from 27-29 September 2018 at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center. Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics will also be held on this earlier date, resulting in further synergies with knitwear fair PH Value and fashion garment fair CHIC. Together, the four events represent a global gathering for the textile sourcing industry.

China’s fashion industry has experienced strong growth in recent years and double-digit growth rates are also forecast for the next five years. And so with an annual growth rate of 12.3%, the market will grow from around 195 billion US dollars to over 310 billion US dollars by the year 2022, as predicted by market research company Statista. This development is also being reflected at Yarn Expo, where the figures speak for themselves: in autumn 2015 the event reported a total of 7,375 visitors, but last autumn’s edition saw 17,185 visitors from 84 countries travelling to Shanghai. In 2015, 258 exhibitors used the trade fair as a business platform, while last October the total was 493 companies from 13 countries and regions, almost twice as many.
