From 20–22 July 2021, thousands of textiles and products, hundreds of global producers, suppliers and buyers were finally able to meet again for the east coast's leading sourcing event – the trade fair trio Texworld, Apparel Sourcing and Hometextiles Sourcing in New York City. All new: the Sourcing Showroom, which bridged the gap between all-virtual and in-person event. Jennifer Bacon, Show Director, Fashion and Apparel, Messe Frankfurt Inc., stated: “The Pop-Up Sourcing Showroom brought together the traditional ‘touch+feel’ experience with the virtual platform technology to give our buyers a whole new way to do business.”
Networking, regardless of location: the new virtual Showroom provided market access to potential buyers from all over the world, from China to Pakistan, Korea, Taiwan, India, and Turkey. More than ten thousand product scans were digitalised and uploaded on the platform, enabling manufacturers to track interest in their products and connect with potential customers. The range extended from innovative fabrics to new colour palettes and textile trends. In addition to the Showroom for new discoveries and trend analyses, the highlights of the trade show experience included an educational programme. Here, industry experts, thought leaders and leading brands addressed industry-relevant topics including sustainability, climate change, the Covid-19 pandemic and global trade relations.
From 25–27 January 2022, the trade show trio will once again be fully face-to-face events, bringing all visitors and exhibitors together in one location.
