Trade Show: Neonyt

The epicentre for sustainable fashion

For a whole decade now, Neonyt and its predecessor formats Greenshowroom and Ethical Fashion Show Berlin have been committed to the topic of sustainable fashion and driving forward powerful change in the industry. During Berlin Fashion Week, from 2-4 July 2019, Kraftwerk Berlin will once again become the global hub for fashion, sustainability and innovation.

July 2019

As part of the “Fridays for Future” movement, school pupils and students are taking to the streets to protest against climate change. Topics like microplastics and ocean pollution dominate the headlines on a regular basis. Solutions to a sustainable future are being sought everywhere – including in the fashion and textile industry. Like no other platform, Neonyt will be tackling the challenges of the fashion world of the future from 2-4 July 2019 at Kraftwerk Berlin. 170 international labels will make the global hub for fashion, sustainability and innovation the world’s biggest hotspot for progressive, sustainable fashion and technological innovations. During a three-day event line-up with high-calibre talks, discussion panels and workshops on four stages, visitors will receive answers to the pressing questions facing the future of fashion. Noteworthy institutions and companies will be taking to the stage – including Germany’s Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Stuttgart shopping centre Das Gerber, Katag, Ramelow, Tchibo, True Standard, the United Nations (UN) and Zalando.

“With Neonyt and its predecessors Greenshowroom and Ethical Fashion Show, we have been synonymous with sustainable fashion for ten years now. We have increased awareness and acceptance of this topic in Berlin, the top destination for sustainability. And thanks, in a large part, to Neonyt, Berlin Fashion Week is now the world’s most important hub for sustainable fashion, which gives it a real USP over the other Fashion Weeks,” says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President of Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt.

As well as the Trade Show, the hub includes the Fashionsustain conference and the Neonyt Fashion Show, the Fashionimpact forum, the Showcase with two micro-factories and Prepeek, the networking platform for influencers and representatives of the media. The line-up will culminate on Thursday afternoon with the UNLOCK Style by ZEITmagazin conference. ‘We Are Water’ continues to be the overarching theme of the event for 2019. And the panels at Fashionsustain will be exploring subjects such as the neo-new role of denim. At the upcoming summer edition, Neonyt will also be putting the spotlight on conventional retailers with a new Retail Forum spanning two days and including talks and discussion panels with renowned speakers on highly topical, turnover-related retail topics.
