Smart approaches, new solutions - the textile and clothing industry continues to develop new innovations. But 2020, a year we will not easily forget, has proved, however, that there is room for improvement. That is also the opinion of the Neonyt community, which will go “on Air” again from 18th to 22nd January 2021. The next edition will focus on issue such as circularity, green financing and sustainable sourcing. “New concepts and progressive advancements need space for discussion and exchange, the right audience and a fresh, outside perspective,” says Thimo Schwenzfeier, Show Director of Neonyt. “This is something we always wish to provide – albeit digitally again in January.” Oeko-Text Association, Hessnatur and the state-owned ecolabel Green Button (Grüner Knopf) have become presenting partners of Neonyt on Air to support the fashion industry’s transition to more social sustainability. Neonyt participants can look forward, for instance, to a panel discussion with Annika Sauerhöfer, product manager of “Made in Green” at Oeko-Tex, Mirjam Smend, founder of Greenstyle and Andreas Bothe, head of CSR & Sustainability Management at Bay City. The discussion will focus on transparency in textile supply chains and the realisation of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
The corona crisis has shown very clearly that solidarity is now more important than ever. “Only together can we ensure that respecting nature and treating people with fairness are no longer the exception but the rule. With “Neonyt on Air”, we are keeping the dialogue going and driving forward our common objective for a better tomorrow,” says Andrea Sibylle Ebinger, CEO of Hessnatur. And that is what Neonyt on Air will be about – a better future for everyone. Participants in the event from 18th to 22nd January 2021 can look forward to an exciting and diverse programme with companies such as Kering Group, Timberland and the German Environment Agency. The virtual format will be running on Neonyt’s social media channels, you will find the full line-up on the website very soon. No registration is required.
