Conscious, committed, sustainable – the fashion industry has discovered the terms of sustainability. During the upcoming fashion week in January, many trade show organisers will focus on sustainability, an issue that is on everybody’s lips. Neonyt, which will run from 14th to 16th January in hangar 4 of former Tempelhof airport, has been dedicated to sustainable fashion ever since it launched ten years ago. For Neonyt, the environmentally friendly and socially responsible value of fashion is not a trend, but an inevitable process of innovation. A catalogue of criteria exhibitors have to meet is updated regularly according to the latest possibilities and guarantees the credibility of the brands on show. Apart from a varied and highly fashionable brand portfolio, Neonyt also offers a top-quality trade show programme including international conference format Fashionsustain, influencer event Prepeek, a catwalk and the presence of relevant non-profit organisations, thus giving insight into the fashion industry of the future.
Neonyt’s guiding theme for the coming event is “air”, covering the industry’s political conditions with Fashionsustain and ranging from carbon dioxide as a commodity to innovative technologies in the engineering industry. Top speakers like Christopher Veit, managing director of Veit Group, Greg Stillman from US start-up Natural Fiber Welding and Allison Dring, co-founder of Made of Air, will comment comprehensively on all aspects of the textile industry. Neonyt’s cooperation with Textile Exchange on Fashionsustain as well as collaborations with the UN Office for Partnerships and the Conscious Fashion Campaign proves that the trade show is banking on the teamwork between the fashion industry and international change makers to transform the industry. This includes the return of certification and seal providers and experts to Neonyt such as the Global Textile Standard (GOTS), the Internationale Verband der Naturtextilwirtschaft (IVN) and Oeko-Tex.
