More than 210 sustainable fashion labels, a truly inspiring show, innovative showcases and a fringe programme featuring 50-plus keynote speeches, discussion panels and masterclasses – Neonyt kicked off this Tuesday with the optimum conditions in place for a successful event. With Neonyt and the conference format Fashionsustain, Messe Frankfurt again positions itself as a “genuine hub for retailers”, says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles and Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt, and provides the impetus for an “integrated innovation process throughout the sector”.
In hangar 4 and hall X, Neonyt appears more international than ever. Prominent new exhibitors like Armedangels, Blutsgeschwister, Dawn Denim, Knowledge Cotton Apparel, Kuyichi, Melvin & Hamilton and Wolfskin Tech Lab as well as newcomers like Fisherman Out of Ireland, Funktion Schnitt, Got Bag, Leit & Held, Lemon Jelly, Moya Kala, Phyne, Sam Lang or Stolbjerg Copenhagen add even more excitement to the range. Numerous brands use the trade show to launch new products, among them Viktor & Rolf and Calida with a cradle-to-cradle Capsule Collection or Lanius with an exclusive Green Carpet Collection. With its SEAmpathy Projekt, Nat-2 presented sneakers made from algae and paprika in collaboration with Daniel Elkayam and Berlin Curry. The backpack and bag label Pingpong celebrates the launch of its Most Responsible Products at Neonyt.
Equally forward-thinking is the Fashionsustain conference programme on the theme of “Air”. With speakers from companies such as Armedangels, Asket, Brigitte be Green, Cleandye, Circular Fashion, Fashion Revolution, Fridays for Future, Fung Group, H&M, ISKO, Katag AG, Lenzing, Nudie Jeans, SAC, Timberland, The Sustainable Angel, the United Nations Office for Partnerships, YKK and Zalando, the programme is not only comprehensive, but also promises controversial standpoints from consistently forward-looking players in the fashion industry.
