What does sustainability mean for the fashion industry? How can retailers embrace an issue with such a relevance for the future? And how is digitalisation progressing in the industry? These are only three of the many questions which will be under scrutiny at Neonyt, which will run from 14th to 16th January 2020. The leading theme for 2020 is „air“, which will systematically integrate environmentally-relevant perspectives into the discussions. The trade show will start with a speech by Dr Daniel Terberger, managing director of Katag AG. On Tuesday, he will explain on the Fashionsustain stage how Germany’s biggest fashion services company defines sustainability. After that, the conference will be taken to a political level with the „SDGs X Fashion – The UN’s Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action“ panel discussion. The panel discussion will focus on the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations, which are championing a better and more sustainable future for everyone.
After the great success the special programme for retailers had at the past Neonyt summer edition, there will again be panel discussions relating to retail. At the Fashionsustain Forum, industry experts can get together in an intimate meeting. Capsule vs. Holistic, Retail vs. e-Tail, Sharing Economy and Good Corporate are the four main topics which will be discussed by professionals like Nelly Hemmann, Head of Communications at Galeries Lafayette, Martin Höfeler, CEO of Armedangels und Jan Wilmking. On Wednesday, certification and seal providers and NGOs will provide insight into current developments and practical implementation in four “Masterclasses”.
A highlight of the tradeshow will be the Neonyt catwalk in the Kraftwerk on 14th January 2020 at 6pm. Models will present curated multi-brand looks of famous stylist Claudia Hoffmann. Under the motto “Back to nature – High Street Fashion meets Outdoor“, the looks presented focus on function and performance. Thanks to the successful interactive Prepeek format, influencers and bloggers can style and directly shoot the collections of the sustainable fashion exhibitors on all three days of the trade show.
