Anyone looking for innovations rather than to improve existing processes should focus their attention on the beginning of the supply chain. As the textile supply chain begins with fibres and yarns, the upcoming Yarn Expo Spring 2018 will once again be welcoming the crème de la crème of the textile industry to Shanghai. In the coming week, an international audience of professionals can look forward to a market overview of state-of-the-art innovations in the yarn and fibre segment.
The three-day trade fair with around 430 exhibitors from 10 countries and regions – including China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Vietnam – is one of the industry’s leading sourcing platforms. A wide-ranging spectrum of high-quality, innovative yarns and fibres will be presented in the trade fair’s different zones to more than 22,000 expected buyers. An informative accompanying line-up with a fashion show, trend area and line-up of seminars revealing the latest market trends will provide additional inspiration. All taking place at the same time, the trade fairs Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics and Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles, clothing fair Chic and knitwear fair PH Value will be offering comprehensive sourcing options along the textile supply chain and a bigger picture of the industry and future trends.
The Fancy Yarn Zone has been extended and will be hosting a number of domestic exhibitors presenting their latest innovations, while the Natural Cotton Zone will see exhibitors from Pakistan and India showcasing their high-quality cotton yarns. Professional visitors interested in wool fabrics will find what they’re looking for in the Quality Wool Zone and innovative synthetic fibres and sustainable yarn and fibre solutions will be on show in the Colourful Chemical Fibre and Green Linen Zone. In the Birla Planet Pavilion, the world’s largest manufacturer of viscose staple yarns will be exhibiting its most important product lines, Birla Modal and Birla Spunshades, while its partner companies will also be demonstrating how the products are used. And at the focus in the Sateri Pavilion are skin-friendly yarns that fulfil high standards of hygiene.
Highlights include the HJ Lite yarns from Korea. Specialised in retroreflective materials, the company will be presenting a yarn that can be woven, knit and sewn into a textile surface. During the day, the metallic shine acts as a decorative element, while at night the yarn can provide added safety as a reflector, in traffic for example. Yarn manufacturer Kongkiat Textiles from Thailand specialises in melange yarns and produces sustainably: its fibres are 100% organically grown and produced in an eco-friendly production process where nearly all waste water is reused. Textile manufacturer PT Daliatex Kusuma from Indonesia is presenting its special viscose and blended mono and multifilament yarns, which the exhibitor claims are superior to any comparable yarns on the market due to the fact they are easier to warp.
Yarn Expo Spring 2018 is taking place together with Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles, clothing fair Chic and knitwear fair PH Value from 14 until 16 March 2018 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. Yarn Expo Spring is organised by Messe Frankfurt and the CCPIT textile association.
