More and more Asian people are spending increasing amounts of money on furniture and homeware – and the market for home and contract textiles is profiting from this. The trend is not only set to continue in 2018, but also in the coming five years according to forecasts by statistics portal Statista: they predict that the market segment for furnishings and homeware in Asia will reach a volume of 79.7 billion euros this year and grow to 129.09 billion euros by 2022. Compared to other international countries, China will generate the most revenue by far, with 62.37 billion euros in 2018, followed by the USA with 52.28 billion euros and Japan with 12.12 billion euros.
New, innovative products from the home and contract textiles sector will be showcased at the leading trade fair for home textiles in Asia – Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles. From 27 – 30 August 2018, over 1,000 exhibitors from around 30 countries and regions will be presenting their ranges, spread over six halls of the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. With the product categories bedding, bathroom, dining & kitchen, curtains & upholstery, textile design & technology, home textiles, sun protection, wallpapers and carpets & rugs, the fair covers an impressively wide product spectrum and offers an attractive platform for exhibitors and visitors. There will also be interesting innovations on show from the sector of digital printing and technologies.
Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT, and the China Home Textile Association (CHTA).
