Trade Show: Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics

Joyful reunion

A meeting place for the global textile industry: The autumn edition of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics from 23–25 September 2020 marks the restart of the textile industry. But standards remain high at the leading trade show despite a difficult first half of the year.

2020 is a challenging year – for the whole world, in all areas. "Our thoughts go out to all those individuals and businesses affected,” says Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. But how long will it take for the textile industry to recover? With this year's autumn edition, Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics aims to reboot the industry. Taking place from 23–25 September at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, the trade show will provide a much-needed meeting point for the industry, for industry experts, buyers and visitors. Successful and safe: The autumn edition expects more than 4,400 exhibitors and around 90,000 buyers – but the health of all participants naturally remains a priority.

The event is widely anticipated in the industry: "This is the best platform to access the Chinese market, but it’s also a very international fair. Many companies exhibit here, so it brings the global industry together,” says Kiichiro Kobayashi, Manager of the Fibres & Textiles Marketing Department of the Japanese chemical company Asahi Kasei.  The organizers are working hard to offer visitors the familiar extensive and outstanding product palette. From Europe to Asia, from accessories to sustainability, from DuPont to Lenzing: The established product zones and pavilions will cover the entire product spectrum. In addition, trend forums, panel discussions and seminars will offer valuable insights into the current market developments and opportunities. "We believe that there is no substitute for face-to-face interaction when it comes to doing business – even more so in the textile industry where product selection cannot be so easily done online,” says Wen.

Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition is organized by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry (CCPIT) and the China Home Textile Association (CHTA). The trade show at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai from 23–25 September 2020 will be held concurrently with Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles, Yarn Expo Spring, PH Value and CHIC.
