Trade show: Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics

Hitting new highs

The starting shot for the biggest edition of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics to date will be fired this Wednesday, 14 March. With a wide-ranging product offer for the entire supply chain, the three-day trade fair is one of the top events for industry leaders. And this year’s spring edition will be reaching new heights with record figures.

March 2018

In a thriving market environment for textiles, Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics has been reporting continuous growth for a number of seasons now. Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager of the event’s organiser, Messe Frankfurt, says: “2018 is the ninth consecutive year of increased exhibitor numbers for the spring edition, which has increased by a remarkable 130% in the four years since it moved to Shanghai.” She sees the fair as “the most efficient and effective way to discover new suppliers and make purchasing decisions”. The reasons for this, according to Wen, are the “full product spectrum of fabrics and accessories on display” and “an unrivalled number of quality suppliers and buyers together in one place”. This is also what makes it one of the most important sourcing events for the industry. With a total of 3,384 exhibitors from 22 countries and regions and 70,000 professional visitors from more than 100 countries expected to attend, the upcoming spring edition will set new records.

Awaiting the professional visitors at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics is a huge variety of fabrics: from shirt and suit fabrics to lingerie and swimwear textiles down to functional and performance materials, every clothing segment is covered. This will be complemented by products and services that are committed to sustainability, as well as the latest digital printing technologies and fashionable accessories. Country and region pavilions and a division of the Chinese exhibitors into the end use of their textiles will make it easier for visitors to navigate their way around the event. A fringe programme including trend forums, seminars, panel discussions and different product zones like the All About Sustainability Zone, the Digital Printing Zone and the Premium Wool Zone will be providing new input and inspiration for today’s textiles.

Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics is taking place together with Yarn Expo, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles, clothing fair Chic and knitwear fair PH Value from 14 until 16 March 2018 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
