New York, Milan, Paris? As well as the more obvious fashion capitals, there are also a few newcomers that are establishing themselves and keeping the market on its toes. One city that is appealing to more and more international buyers is Shenzhen. With around 1,000 fashion brands, 2,000 clothing companies and 30,000 fashion designers, the city has already established itself as China’s fashion capital.
The new records set by Intertextile Pavilion Shenzhen from 5-7 July 2018 reflect the growth of the market and confirm the fair’s reputation as the industry platform of choice for the sourcing of clothing fabrics and accessories. This season, Intertextile Pavilion Shenzhen welcomed 971 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions, which is equivalent to a growth of 35%. This is the reason why the fair occupied an additional hall, increasing its total area to 37,500 m². From big domestic brands like Bosideng, Elegant Prosper, the Heilan Group and Peacebird down to global fashion brands such as Giorgio Armani, Givenchy, Ralph Lauren and Triumph – a total of 17,664 buyers from 35 countries and regions visited the event, 13% more than in the previous year.
“Shenzhen is China’s fashion capital, so we can find a lot of opportunities at this fair. We are very satisfied with the visitor flow so far and we’ve had a good mix of agents and fashion designers visit us. In terms of the interest we’ve received, we can expect to follow up with some very good business after the event,” explained Anna Lee, Manager of Evertue Co Ltd.
The next Intertextile trade fair in the clothing sector is Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition, which is taking place on an earlier date from 27-29 September 2018. The next edition of Intertextile Pavilion Shenzhen will be held from 4-6 July 2019. The fair is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry – CCPIT, the China Textile Information Center and the Shenzen Garment Industry Association.
