Producing locally has a whole host of benefits – such as the proximity to production facilities, for example. At its summer edition, Texworld USA reacted to the significant increase in companies taking an interest in regional production by establishing a new segment. With 837 exhibitors from 19 countries, the trade fair trio of Texworld USA, Apparel Sourcing USA and Home Textiles Sourcing presented a wide array of international suppliers. Over 5,000 professional visitors attended the fair and gained an overview of innovative fabrics, new material mixes and surprising colour palettes for the coming season across 15 product categories. Visitors also had the opportunity to attend informative seminars and inspiring workshops.
As a reaction to the demand for domestic production facilities, the Local Loft was added to the show floor this year. Here, local clothing companies and service providers showcased their offers in a loft-like setting. Texworld USA has once again reinforced its leading position as a sourcing fair for the international fashion industry. Seminars by Lenzing Fibres featuring curated panel discussions and hosted by industry experts covered globally relevant topics such as sustainable solutions for the industry and the circular economy. The problems of microplastics and microfibres were also discussed, as well as the changing behaviour of consumers. And the Texworld USA Trend Showcase gave visitors the opportunity to discover the latest colour and textile offers for the autumn/winter 2019/20 season.
Home Textiles Sourcing Expo presented interior innovations in six product categories and organised a panel discussion on ‘The New Home Textiles Landscape – What’s Needed to Survive and Thrive Tomorrow’.
The next editions of Texworld USA and Apparel Sourcing USA will be taking place from 21-23 January 2019 at the Javits Convention Center in New York.
