Following a long trade show break, the textile industry got together at Shanghai's National Exhibition and Convention Center to exchange information about innovations and to get down to networking. The autumn editions of Intertextile Apparel Fabrics Shanghai and Yarn Expo Shanghai were a great success - 73,500 visitors and about 3,400 exhibitors from 20 countries met at the events. In addition to the physical events, there were digital alternatives for interested parties unable to travel to Shanghai in person. An online platform allowed users to find relevant exhibitors easily and quickly and contact them straight away. Another highlight at Intertextile Apparel Fabrics Shanghai was the "Hybrid Showcase" - exhibitors, who were not able to travel to Shanghai, could present their products via video broadcasts. Their fabrics were showcased at the Shanghai events for visitors to inspect. Interested buyers could then directly contact suppliers of interest.
Textile turnaround - the two trade shows met with a great response from the industry. "From the feedback from participants this week, it’s clear these events have provided a real boost to help their businesses to make up some of the ground lost earlier in the year, and to look forward to the seasons ahead with some confidence,” said Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager at Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.
Preparations for the next editions of Intertextile Apparel Fabrics Shanghai and Yarn Expo Shanghai are already in full swing. Once again, the two trade shows will take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center from 10th to 12th March 2021, together with CHIC and PH Value.
