Trade Show: Texworld USA & Apparel Sourcing USA

Direction innovation

Advanced materials, innovative technologies, local production – these are the keys to a more sustainable fashion industry to be highlighted by trade show duo Texworld USA and Apparel Sourcing USA from 19th to 21st January 2020 in New York.

October 2019

It will be paradise for sourcing. From 19th to 21st January 2020, exhibitors and visitors from all over the world will meet at Texworld USA and Apparel Sourcing USA at the Javits Convention Center in New York. The issue the trade shows will focus on is one that is moving the industry: innovation. How can industry players stand out from the crowd and what are the solutions to a more sustainable production of textiles and fashion? The “Texworld Showcase” area will take a look into the future. New York-based trend agency and strategic consultancy The Doneger Group, known for the development of business strategies for retail and the fashion industry, will add a creative touch to the area that will be called “The Next Dimension” and present the latest trends for the spring-summer 2021 season. The area will feature the four themes “Fundamental”, “Diaphanous”, “Alteration” and “One World”, covering a broad range of new fabrics from design to performance.

There will also be lectures and panel discussions dedicated to new trends and innovations with an emphasis on denim, cotton and functional fabrics. Exhibitor Brrr° is a pioneer in this field. As the name suggests, the company’s textiles have a cooling effect due to the “Triple Chill Effect Technology”. Natural functions of the fabrics, active wicking and rapid drying create a pleasant skin sensation. Fabric producer Lenzing from Austria, meanwhile, will present solutions for a more environmental-friendly fashion industry that range from products made of recyclable materials to an own dedicated seminar series. Following the successful FASHIONSUSTAIN conference last season, the new format FASHIONINNOVATE, which will take place on the 19th January 2020, will, for the first time, address sustainability in the context of new technologies, bio synthetics and smart textiles. A main reason for the industry’s big carbon footprint are the long transport routes. The “Local Loft” area, which was already highly popular at the trade show duo’s previous editions, will this season once again point out production options in the USA.
