Since the outbreak of Covid-19, the world has been turned upside down. The trade show industry has also been hit hard - events, one after the other, had to be cancelled or postponed. Starting with this summer, the first physical events have started to take place again in China, with strict hygiene and protective rules in place. One of these trade shows is Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, which will take place in Shanghai's National Exhibition and Convention Center from 23rd to 25th September. The physical event will be accompanied by a digital one. "We understand that alternative solutions are necessary at this time to help our exhibitors and visitors overcome the obstacles set by the outbreak of COVID-19, thus we have evaluated the online tools and services we currently have, as well as sought new ways to digitally connect the industry,” says Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager at Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.
Connecting the industry – that is what the organisers of the autumn event of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics are aspiring to. Not only exhibitors and visitors at the physical event will profit from the new concept, but also all those players unable to travel to the trade show in person. “Our digitised solutions will cater for all scenarios – domestic and overseas suppliers and buyers who have been eager to connect with each other since missing out on the Spring Edition of Intertextile, while serving as pre-event promotion, business and networking opportunities for the Autumn Edition,” says Wen. The service aims to promote a seamless exchange of information for international business deals - online as well as offline - to truly help the industry recover. The offer includes a data bank covering more than 100,000 buyers from over 100 countries and regions. The Intertextile app provides exhibitors with information about products and allows them to make virtual or physical appointments with buyer. It also offers all relevant information about the trade show itself. As a reaction to Covid-19, Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics will also extend access to business matching platform Connect PLUS for exhibitors and buyers. In addition, seminar series “Textile e-Dialogue” allows interested parties to share relevant content about trade shows and the industry even before the event kicks off.
Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics will run alongside the autumn editions of Yarn Expo, CHIC and PH Value and is organised jointly by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry (CCPIT) and China Textile Information Centre.
